O2 5G is here!

This October, O2 activated its 5th Generation (5G) network across six major UK cities: Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Slough, and Leeds. As part of its national rollout, O2 aims to expand the service to 50 towns and cities by summer 2020. This marks an important step in connectivity, improving speed and reliability for users across the country.

To support the launch, The Ann Savva Group has teamed up with Ice to help raise awareness of the 5G rollout. Our promotional staff have been positioned at key locations around the UK, where they’ve been engaging directly with the public and introducing the practical benefits of 5G.

Rather than simply handing out information, our staff have been encouraging people to experience the technology firsthand. Demonstrations have included the use of compatible mobile devices and showing how the improved connection allows for faster downloads, smoother video streaming, and real-time online activity without noticeable delays. These short, informative interactions have helped explain how 5G can make everyday mobile use more efficient.

Our team has focused on creating a space where questions are welcomed. Members of the public have been encouraged to try the devices for themselves and learn more about how the network upgrade might change their day-to-day use. These live interactions are especially useful for those who may not be familiar with the technical details but are curious about the impact on things like entertainment, work, and communication.

In locations such as shopping centres, city hubs, and major transport areas, our staff have maintained a strong presence, helping O2 reach a wide range of people in high-footfall areas. By working in these environments, our ambassadors are able to demonstrate the power of 5G through conversation and simple, hands-on demos.

The campaign’s success lies in its face-to-face approach. Rather than focusing on technical messaging alone, the team is creating an approachable, informative setting where people can ask questions and receive answers in real time. This is especially valuable for individuals who might have heard about 5G but are unsure about what it means or why it matters.

The O2 5G campaign reflects how effective live engagement can be in supporting a major product or service launch. It’s not just about distributing leaflets or playing a video loop. It’s about direct conversation, approachable explanations, and helping people connect with the information in a way that makes sense for them.

Our work with Ice and O2 continues throughout the month. As the 5G network expands, so will the opportunities to speak with new users and communities across the UK. Our promotional staff remain committed to delivering clear, useful information and helping the public understand what this new phase of connectivity means in practical, everyday terms.
